Let's dive a little deeper...

Aqua, Good old water, H2O, is one of the most common skincare ingredients. When used in cosmetics, the water is purified and deionized. Typically it's listed at the top of the ingredient list, signifying it's the most prominent ingredient used in the product. It functions as a solvent for ingredients that do not dissolve in oils.

Purified water, often considered a cornerstone of a healthy lifestyle, offers a range of health benefits:

Hydration: Staying properly hydrated is essential for overall health. Purified water provides a clean and refreshing source of hydration, supporting bodily functions, including circulation, digestion, and temperature regulation.

Toxin Removal: Purified water undergoes filtration processes that remove impurities and contaminants. Drinking purified water helps the body eliminate toxins, promoting better kidney function and overall detoxification.

Improved Digestion: Adequate water intake, especially in a purified form, aids in digestion by facilitating the breakdown of food and the absorption of nutrients. It can also help prevent constipation and promote a healthy gastrointestinal system.

Joint Health: Proper hydration is crucial for maintaining joint health. Purified water helps lubricate joints, reducing friction and supporting overall joint function.

Cognitive Function: Dehydration can negatively impact cognitive performance and concentration. Drinking purified water ensures optimal hydration, supporting mental clarity, focus, and overall cognitive function.

Skin Health: Hydrated skin is healthy skin. Purified water contributes to skin hydration, helping to maintain elasticity, reduce dryness, and promote a clearer complexion.

Weight Management: Drinking purified water can aid in weight management by promoting a feeling of fullness, which may reduce the likelihood of overeating. It also supports metabolic processes involved in breaking down stored fat.

Regulation of Body Temperature: Adequate water intake is crucial for maintaining proper body temperature through processes like sweating. Purified water ensures that the body can efficiently regulate temperature, especially during physical activity.

Remember, while purified water provides these health benefits, it's important to maintain a balanced and varied diet along with an overall healthy lifestyle. Individual water needs may vary, so it's a good idea to listen to your body and stay hydrated throughout the day.

Did you know the facts about water purification?

By removing unwanted additives such as lead and chlorine, water filters help to make your water healthier. Some studies have equated water chemicals with higher incidences of certain cancers, so the purer the water, the more peace of mind you can enjoy.

Who discovered purified water?

The Egyptians (1500 B.C.) One of the first cultures to enjoy great-tasting water was the Egyptians. They purified their drinking water using a variety of methods. To eliminate harmful bacteria, they boiled the water, heated it in the sun, or submerged hot iron into it.

Where was water first purified?

The town of Paisley finally took his advice in 1804, creating the world's first municipal water treatment plant. It used gravel and sand filters to filter the drinking supply. 1854 (A.D.) Midway through the 19th century, British scientist John Snow discovered that cholera was transmitted through water.
